2.The Magi's Visit U

Tells the story of the Magi’s visit to Herod and the child Jesus, their return by a different route and a comparison to all gentiles seeking the Lord.

3.Escape! U

The flight to Egypt, the result of Herod’s wrath, and the settling in Nazareth. Through these prophesied events, God protected our interests by protecting his son.

4.And the Child Grew U/4 A song as brief as our knowledge of Jesus' childhood
5.The Boy at the Temple U

Three unison stanzas tell of Jesus' trip to Jerusalem when he was twelve. The choir sings the refrain, which is repeated by the congregation:  A bulletin insert for the congregation is included.

6.Jesus Is Baptized U/4

Five unison stanzas relating the baptism of Jesus by John. These work well as solos in an adult choir, with a lively 4-part retrain.

7.Jesus Is Tempted U

Seven unison verses depict the temptation of the Christ by Satan. Minor key; haunting 3/4 tempo melody. Rhyming is not a priority here.

8.Come Follow Me 2  An infectious invitation to follow Christ by fishing for mankind, tending his garden, extending his banquet invitation to others.
9.The Beatitudes U/4

Jesus went up a mountainside and his disciples followed him. Upon that mountainside he taught, These words of wisdom: The Beatitudes follow. This song is in unison and the accompaniment is easy.

10.Prayer 2

The basis for this two-part song is the Lord’s Prayer. It also reminds that God, as our father, gives good things to us and we should knock, ask and seek.

11.Parables U

Unison parables connected with a brief refrain to define the meaning of parable. Stories are: The Good Samaritan, The Sower and the Soil, The Lost Sheep, Vineyard Workers, Following the Blind, the Speck and Beam.

 12.Anointment U/3

The woman who anoints Jesus feet, wipes them with her hair and receives forgiveness because of her repentance and faith. Simple harmoney.

 13.Confession U

Based on Peter’s confession in John 6:68-69, this song begins with a recitation of the verse. There are three stanzas asking, Lord, where would we go?.. who would we be?.. what would we do? 

14. The Transfiguration 2

Three unison verses and a two-part refrain: Shining like the sun! Bright as lightning! Jesus had come, To show himself as God!
