Mothers:    (Spoken over introductory music) Children… where are you? Get away from those camels!

1. Mother! Father!   Listen...  Quick Midi
Children:   (sing)  Mother! In the village square,
Strangers from the East are asking questions there!
                            Wonder what they want here; wonder who they are;
Why they point to a star?

Fathers:    (Spoken over music) Children, you heard your mother! Come here—right now!
Children:    (sing) Father! We just want to peek,
Maybe ask the strangers what it is they seek.
Maybe they have presents; maybe one for me.
                            Mother, dear, Father, dear, PLEASE!

                            They don't look dangerous,
                            Just dirty from the dust,
                            Tired and hungry, too.
                            Would it not be polite
                            To offer them a bite
Of bread or figs to chew?

                            Father, you are very strong.
We would be protected if you came along.
Mother, we are begging, down upon our knees!
May we go? May we go? PLEASE!
                            Mother, dear, Father, dear, PLEASE!

 2.  It Was Very Good Listen...
Quick Midi
God created light! What a super duper sight!
He called the lightness Day and he called the darkness Night.
When he was done, that became Day Number One,
And God saw that it was very good!

Then he said, “I know! I’ll divide the waters so
There’ll be a sky up high, with enough for down below.”
When he was through, that became Day Number Two,
And God saw that it was very good!

Then on Day Three, made land and sea;
All of the fruits and veg’tables created he.
Then he said, “Now plants and trees, continue making seeds.”
And God saw that it was very good.

(Spoken over music, possibly by a  narrator) God lit the sky with a sun, a moon, and stars, to separate the day from the night, and serve as signs for the seasons and years. God spoke, and it was so. And it was good. There was evening and there was morning. This was the Fourth Day.

(sing)
On the Fifth, God said, “Let there be birds overhead!
And from the seas I’ll bring all the fishy-wishy things.
They’ll swim and fly, increase and multiply.
And God saw that it was very good!

When the Sixth day came, God created wild and tame.
He made all creatures found traveling along the ground.
The great and small, he created one and all.
And God saw that it was very good!

Then God made man, called Adam.
Put him to sleep and from his rib he made a ma’am.
Then he said, “Be fruitful; go and rule over all!”
And God saw that it was very good!

(Spoken over the music, possibly by a narrator) God created Adam and Eve in his own image. They had no sin. They knew who God was, and what he expected of them. What pleased God also pleased Adam and Eve. They lived in harmony and righteousness in a special garden that God had prepared just for them. It was called Eden.

(sing)
It was very good! It was very, very good!
God had completed his universal neighborhood:
A perfect place for a perfect human race.
And God saw that it was very, quite extraordinary,
Saw that it was very good!

 3.  Since The Fall  Listen...
Quick Midi
The devil tempted Eve to eat a certain kind of fruit.
She offered it to Adam and her husband followed suit.
God told them not to do it, but they did it anyway
And the world has gone downhill from that day
The world has gone downhill from that day.
Since The Fall, since The Fall, may the Lord have mercy on us all!

The sin that they committed is inherited by us,
And causes separation from God’s perfect righteousness.
The punishment for everyone is death, and then we’ll be
Sent to Hell for all of eternity,
To Hell for all of eternity.
Since The Fall, since The Fall, may the Lord have mercy on us all!

4. It Takes a Very Wise Man    Listen...
Quick Midi
It takes a very wise man to recognize his sin,
To know that he’s unworthy, deep within.
It takes a very wise man to stand before God’s throne,
Confess that he is guilty, and can’t atone.

But God has promised that he will be
The one to save us, and set us free
Through the Messiah, the Chosen One,
He pays for all the sins we've done.

We knew that someday this thing would be
For God had promised in prophecy
The son of David will come to reign,
And bring God's peace to earth again.

This king will suffer, and pay the price:
A lamb for slaughter and sacrifice.
Yet his dead body will not decay
He’ll rise again, as we, one day

It takes a very wise man, to turn to God for aid
That wisdom is from God alone, and not man-made.
It takes a very wise man; we hope you’re one of them,
Who trusts in him and not yourself for redemption.
For Jesus is the only hope of all wise men.

  5. They Came to Our Village   Listen...
Quick Midi
They came to our village so they could be counted.
The journey was long and the hour was late.
The inn was already filled up to the rafters;
The woman named Mary was near her due date.
And so the scene was set to bring God's only son that day.
We never thought the help we sought would have come this way!

The baby was born and was wrapped up in swaddling,
Then tucked in a manger that served as his bed.
As Micah foretold, he was born here in Beth'lem;
His mother a virgin, as Isaiah said.
Some think it strange God would arrange the Savior's birth this way.
But God knows best; as for the rest, who are we to say?
To say…
This part of the story is short in the telling,
But long in the planning, for it first began,
When God promised Adam and Eve in the Garden,
That he would be sending a Savior for Man.

God's promise is true,
And we're telling you,
He's here in our village right now!

 6. The Shepherds’ Story   Listen...
Quick Midi
We were minding our own business, tending flocks out in the field,
When the night was pierced with brightness, and an angel was revealed.
Terror took us by the throats and tossed us trembling to the ground.
For the glory and the greatness of the Lord shone all around.

“Do not fear,” he said to us— ha! A little late!
“For I bring news of great joy, news that cannot wait.
Unto you, in David’s town this day,” the holy angel said,
“Lies the promised, newborn Savior, swaddled in a manger bed.
He is not for you alone, but for all nations far and near.
Though of this most blessed happening, you are the first to hear!”

Suddenly a company of heav’nly host appeared.
Praising God and saying words each of us holds dear:

Glory to God in the highest, for on earth his peace to men
Has been born in human form to bring us back to him again.
Glory to God in the highest, peace on whom his favor rests,
From the highest comes the greatest love down to the lowliest!
From the highest comes the greatest love down to the lowliest!

7. We Saw The Baby    Listen...
Quick Midi
We saw the baby lying there, in manger hay, just newly born,
Exactly as the shepherds said on Jesus’ birthday morn.
In Bethlehem, in David's town,
The only Son of God came down
To be our Savior and King.
New birth to ev'ry sinner here is what this child brings.
And we saw him! And we saw him!
He was born in Bethlehem!

His mother, Mary, sang to him a soft and soothing lullaby.
Her husband, Joseph, looked on them with wonder in his eyes.
In Bethlehem, in David's town,
The only Son of God came down
To be our Savior and King.
New birth to ev'ry sinner here is what this child brings.
And we saw him! And we saw him! He was born in Bethlehem!

(2nd voice descant optional)
God's love for us is very great to come and fix all our mistakes.
What fools we'd be to disregard the offer that he makes:
To live a perfect life and then,
To suffer, die, and rise again, all for our rescuing.
New birth to ev'ry sinner here is what this child brings.
Alleluia! Alleluia! Allelu, alleluia!

 8.  In a Little House   Listen...
Quick Midi
In a little house is a little child,
Who will greet you with a great big smile.
Although he is a little thing,
This little child is a great big king!

We don't know how long he has come to stay,
But if he could talk, here is what he'd say:
"You're all as welcome as can be;
I want all people to come to me!"

Someday this child will become a man,
Who will gather us in his loving hands,
To live with him eternally,
As one big happy family!

9. God Will Save  Listen...
Quick Midi
God has loved you with an everlasting love.
Long before you were created, it was there.
So he gives this promise just for you,
And for all your children, too.
He will clothe you in his perfect righteousness;

He will show you just how very much he cares.
On your own, you can’t come to him, so he comes to you.
God will save!

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son.
That whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life!

God has loved you with an everlasting love.
Long before you were created it was there.
So he gives this promise just for you,
And for all your children, too.
Till the Savior in his glory comes again,
May each generation pass the promise on,
Bringing hope to all nations with these words:
God will save!
God will save!
